MEMBERSHIP AT BUNDORAN GOLF CLUB.

Bundoran Golf Club are pleased to announce due to the success of the new categories of membership introduced in 2011 they are continuing for 2012. The Progressive membership was very successful in attracting members to the club.

Reminder of these categories: 

Five Day membership:Only available to new members. Can play Mon to Fri , if you wish to play at weekends you can do but must play at visitor green fee rates. Can play during in Open week at member rates. Open competitions will be organised during the summer months.

Cost: €400.00+€50 bar levy =€450.00.

Progressive membership:- Three year membership and at end of third year you are a full member. This is available to new members, and for members who have not been golfing in the past two years and want to come back to golf you can join back into year 2. Can play 7 days. Cost: Year 1 €350.00 +€50 levy= €400.00. Year 2, cost €450.00 and year three full membership rate.

With these two memberships you can not attend AGM’s or vote or play for Captain’s or President’s prizes.

Don’t forget membership can be paid by cash, credit / debit card or direct debit form (can be downloaded from web page)

Weekend Results 20th November 2011

November 21st, 2011

Another weekend , weather wise. Winner of the mid week turkey for this
week was Graham Laird with  31 net and Ray Sheerin won a bottle of spirits .
On Saturday Ray featured again, his 35 pts , winning a large bottle
hamper. Next to feature was Gerard Watters who took home a bottle of
spirits.
Sunday we had a 49 playing and Fergal McGowan  was top  of the heap ,
his 35 pts beating Neil Barbour’s 35 pts   into second place.  In third
spot Anthony Bowring on 33 pts, Pat Neary on 32 pts and Jim Gaavigan was
5th.
Next Saturday we have the 2nd of our Saturday Opens.

Results from Open Sat Competition 12th Nov

November 14th, 2011

The mid-week turkey was won by Aiden Howe  with a net 30 1/2, his second

turkey of the year.
The Club Open on Saturday drew a large entry with
James O’Carroll
winning  with 42 pts, followed by Joe O’Hara, Nicky Moloney
and Danny
McLernon all on 41 pts. The good weather helped the
scoring.
The larger Bottle Hamper on Sunday was won by Billy Gavigan with 38
pts,
with the following all featuring having all returned 36 pts. Brendan

McCauley , a small bottle hamper, Pat Neary and our Captain, Brian

MacCarthaigh both winning  turkeys and Robert Barnes won  a bottle of

spirits.
Last Monday was the last day for nominations and  proposals for
the
Men’s Club.
Next Monday is the last day for the same for the Joint
Committee.

SUNDAY LUNCH IN CLUB HOUSE

November 2nd, 2011

On Sunday 13th November the club are hosting a Sunday Lunch for members.  It is being served from 1.00pm to 3pm and costs €16 per person. A childrens menu will also will available.

Those wishing to avail of this four course lunch should reserve their table by contacting the Secretary on 0866004210 or 0719841302

Reminding all members tickets for the club draw are available from the office, all management committee members , club bar, Pro Shop. There are more prizes this year so please buy your tickets soon, first draw will be the end of November.

30th Oct Results

November 2nd, 2011

The winner of the last official Club & Open Compettion was Robert Barnes with Joe Costello og Galway and Pat McGovern claiming the next two prizes. The entry was low with the golfing gods deciding that the club golfers got a bit of work done around the house in advance of Christmas. All necessary.

Next weekend we are off the yellow tees.

There was no mid week turkey as the entry was low, however the best score of the week won a bottle of vodka

The Club Sweep was won by Kevin Slowey on 37 pts, next to feature were
Brendan McCauley 36 pts, Thomas Gallagher, ( the Aodh Ruadh man is
cleaning up at the moment) was next and Jamie Monaghan both on 35 pts.

This weekend we had the Aodh Ruadh GAA  as sponsors and again the
conditions were difficult.  Top of the pile was new member, Thomas
Gallagher, with a great score of 41 pts, fully 5 shots of the next
prizewinner, Brian Carr, 36 pts. , Tony Murphy had 35 pts., Ciaran
McBrien of Muskerry had 34 pts ( b.o.t) and Shaun Maguire also on 34 pts
. Next weekend our sponsor is the Apartotel, John O’Connell.
Matches not played by next weekend in the Club Matchplays will be
decided by Toss. Brian Carr is in the Final of the Singles at the
expense of Aaaron Robinson.  All prizes to be presented on the 7th Oct .
The next Club Classic is a fund raiser for  Magh Ene Secondary School to
be played on the 23rd of Sept.

In terrible conditions Brendan Wymbs kept his nerve to bring in a net 70
in the Dave Ruane sponsored competition , fully 4 shots ahead of the
next placed player, Dodie Maguire. Also featuring ( again) was  Jim
Gavigan  75 net, with Tommy Howe and Tom McCaughey in the next two
positions on 76 net .
Next weekend Aodh Ruadh GAA  are the sponsors.
Matches not played by next weekend in the Club Matchplays will be
decided by Toss. All prizes to be presented on the 7th Oct .
The next Club Classic is a fund raiser for  Magh Ene Secondary School to
be played on the 23rd of Sept.The Convenor will be in touch with a few
members prior to that advising them of their new handicaps .  Check with
the Pro Shop for times.

Weekend Results

September 5th, 2011

The winner of the Great Northern Hotel sponsored competition was Luke
Robinson with a net 65. Next we had our Club President, Sean Crawford,
nearing the end of his presidency and relaxing now brought in a net 67.
Others who featured were Fred Cowan of Castlehume , 67 net, Peter
Curran, 69 net and Jim Gavigan of Tullan had a net 70.
In the Scratch Matchplay Alan Clancy brought Adam Dunmore to the 14th,
not a bad result. A reminder to all those palying in the Club Matchplays
they must be finished by the 7th Oct., the last presentation of the
year. The Convenor will be taking a long hard luck at the outstanding
matches next Sunday.
This weekend Delwyn Montgomery of North West was 1st with 39 pts to win
the Barry Fox Solicitor’s competition.
Jim Gavigan ( again, he is late this year ) featured with 38 pts, Pearse
O’Neill, Gerry Horgan, David Webb all had 37 pts and Gary McGloin won
