Fergal goes ‘Potty’ at Bundoran

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Last weekend’s competition, the Belleek Pottery sponsored stroke event saw Fergal McGowan go ‘potty’ and card a super seven under par winning nett 63 return!

Playing off sixteen, Fergal belied this mark especially during his first nine holes where he slipped home birdie putts on both the first and seventh holes as he turned in a spectacular two over par 37. While easing back somewhat on the back nine, which he completed in 42 blows, he still had three strokes to spare over runner up David Webb.

Twelve handicapper David spun his way to a nett 66 after he also raced around the first nine holes in 37 before also experiencing more difficulty on the back nine which he completed in 41 strokes. However David still managed to edge Dodie Maguire into third place on the break of tie after this seventeen handicapper also posted a nett 66.

Fourth place spoils then went to sixteen handicapper Liam Gillespie one shot further behind with a nett 67 with John Keon (17) in fifth place after carding a nett 68.

Next weekend is the final competition of the year sponsored by Ballyshannon G.A.A. For tee times please contact the Pro Shop on 07198 41302.
