The Ballyshannon GAA sponsored competition at the weekend, at Bundoran Golf Club, was won by local man Nicky Moloney playing off eleven with 39 points. Nicky opened his scoring with 19 points on the front nine and returned home with 20 points which included pars at fourteen, sixteen and eighteen and the undoubted highlight a birdie four at the seventeenth hole.
This birdie was too prove crucial as it enabled Nicky to carve out a one point victory over second placed John Cassidy, who playing off twenty finished with 38 points. Consistency personified, John scored 19 points on each nine.
In third place then was Seamus O’Neill playing off nineteen with 36 points on a break of tie. Seamus opened his score with just 14 points on the front nine however 22 points on the back nine was better than fourth placed David Webb who also finished with 36 points.
David had 17 points on the front nine and 19 points on the back nine which he edged out fifth placed Brendan McCauley also with 36 points but only managed 18 points on his back nine. The Sean Kerr memorial Cup was also played at the weekend and was won by Nicky Moloney.
The final prize giving of the year will take place on Friday 9th October at 9.00pm and all prize winners for last months competitions are asked to attend
